Dale Webster Strassburger, aged 34, disappeared on June 28, 1982, while on his way home from work at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois. He lived with his parents in Davenport, Iowa, and was expected to return home that night. However, he never arrived, and his 1976 Oldsmobile was found abandoned just 29 minutes after he left work. The vehicle was discovered on the Le Claire bridge over the Mississippi River, in the eastbound lane—a route that was not on his typical path home.
