Michael Jay Amico Wallace, a 29-year-old resident of Menlo Park, California, disappeared on February 4, 2003. He was last seen by his roommate that morning when he left their home on Loyola Avenue. Later that day, between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., he contacted his estranged wife to cancel plans they had previously made. That phone call was the last known contact with Wallace, and his phone has not been used since.
At the time of his disappearance, Wallace was dealing with personal difficulties, including the recent loss of his father, the end of his marriage, and the loss of his job. He also suffered from depression and was on medication for it, carrying a 60-day supply of his antidepressants, Zoloft and Wellbutrin, when he vanished. Although authorities issued a warrant for his arrest after he failed to complete court-mandated community service due to a driving under the influence (DUI) charge, they do not believe this was a reason for his disappearance.
There have been a few unconfirmed sightings of Wallace after he disappeared, including one at a McDonald’s in Pacifica, California, where a man matching his description was seen acting strangely. Despite these potential leads, Wallace’s whereabouts remain unknown, and his case remains unsolved.
