He was headed to a Brazilian jiu-jitsu class, a routine part of his life, but he never arrived at the class and was not heard from again. His family could not get in contact with him, and concern grew when friends and family confirmed no one had seen or heard from him after he failed to show up for his appointment.
At the time of his disappearance, Robert lived with his grandmother in a home on the 1400 block of Sunview Drive. The circumstances surrounding his sudden departure from his normal life were immediately unclear to those who knew him and to law enforcement.
The search for Robert took a perplexing turn three days later, on October 27, 2012, when the U.S. Forest Service located his car. The vehicle was found locked and abandoned near Causey Reservoir in Weber County, Utah, specifically in the Skull Creek Canyon area. This location was near a trailhead, but investigators did not believe Robert was prepared for hiking or any kind of overnight stay in the wilderness. There was no evidence found in or around the car that offered any clues as to what might have happened to him or what his intentions might have been in that remote location. His disappearance was classified as endangered missing, and the Ogden City Police Department took charge of the investigation.
As the years have passed, Robert's case has remained unsolved, becoming a cold case for the Ogden City Police Department. He is described as a Hispanic and White/Caucasian male, 5'8" tall and weighing around 235 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Notably, he had shaved his head about a week before he went missing, and his hair was short stubble at the time. Despite the passage of time, investigators have not located Robert or anyone who has had contact with him since that October afternoon.
