Venita Marie Gannon, a 40-year-old woman, was last seen in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on September 1, 1988. At the time of her disappearance, she was living on the streets and battling addiction to illicit drugs. Venita was also known to use several aliases, including Venita Smith and Venita Setterlung. Described as 5'1" tall, weighing approximately 105 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, she had a distinctive scar on her chest from a gunshot wound.
