Mary Ann Mergel, a 65-year-old woman, was last seen in Chatsworth, Georgia, around March 1, 2004. Originally from New Jersey, Mary had moved to Georgia to be closer to her son, Paul Mergel. She lived in a mobile home on five acres of land, but her family lost contact with her by the spring of 2004. Her New Jersey relatives reported her missing in May after they were unable to reach her and received conflicting stories from others about her whereabouts.
