In the summer of 2014, Timothy Lee Copley, a 57-year-old man, disappeared from his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. On the morning of June 20th, he left his residence on West Colorado Avenue with the intention of attending a 9:00 a.m. group therapy meeting at the Warriors Support Center. Mr. Copley, who did not own a car, relied on public transportation or his mountain bike to get around.
On this particular day, he was traveling by bus but unfortunately missed his connection at the bus terminal. Following this, he made a phone call to his live-in girlfriend, Anna Mitchell, informing her that he would be returning home. However, Timothy Copley never made it back to his residence and has not been seen or heard from since that day. His girlfriend reported him as a missing person.
At the time of his disappearance, Timothy was described as a Caucasian male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing between 225 and 300 pounds. He had a scar on the right side of his neck and another on his upper left inner arm. He was last seen wearing a navy blue t-shirt, brownish-gray sweatpants, blue and white Nike sneakers, and a Volvo baseball cap. It was also noted that he may have been bald due to chemotherapy treatments he was undergoing for cancer, with which he had been diagnosed three years prior to his disappearance. His health was considered to be poor at the time he went missing. Those who knew him mentioned that he had a history of involvement with drugs and had faced legal troubles for offenses such as burglary and assault. Despite a life that involved traveling and working various construction jobs, his father stated that he always maintained contact with his family.
A tragic and complicating turn of events occurred in April of 2015, nearly a year after Timothy's disappearance. When law enforcement officials went to the home he had shared with Anna Mitchell to search for evidence related to his case, they discovered her body inside. It was determined that she had been deceased for several days. An autopsy later revealed that the cause of her death was a methamphetamine overdose, and it was also noted that she had a history of chronic alcohol abuse and other health issues. With the passing of Anna Mitchell, the person who was closest to Timothy, a significant source of information about his life and potential whereabouts was lost. The circumstances surrounding Timothy Copley's disappearance remain unclear, and his case is still unsolved.
