On March 17, 1974, Martin's white 1971 Honda Z600 was found abandoned in the parking lot of Linda Mar Shopping Center in Pacifica, California. At the time of his disappearance, Martin was 6'1" to 6'2", weighing around 170 to 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He had a full beard and mustache, and he was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray t-shirt, a brown suede jacket, and size 11 hiking boots with lug soles.
