Thanit Sheetz-Marti, a 3-year-old girl, was last seen on January 3, 2010, in Lynn, Massachusetts. She and her younger sister, Athena, were reportedly taken by their mother, Mireia Marti, and are believed to have been abducted. The two girls may have been taken to Spain, where their mother has family ties. Authorities suspect that Marti, who was involved in a contentious custody battle with the children’s father, Jonathan Sheetz, fled with the children to avoid legal repercussions.
