In the coastal city of Wilmington, North Carolina, a 30-year-old mother named Ebonee Shanetta Spears vanished on January 15, 2016, leaving her family and community with haunting questions. Just the summer before, Ebonee had been diagnosed with lupus, a challenging autoimmune disease.
