On a summer day in Wilmington, North Carolina, 16-year-old Kira Ramsey was seen for the last time on June 25, 2026. A white female with blonde or strawberry hair, Kira stood at five feet two inches and weighed around 130 pounds. Her appearance is distinguished by several tattoos, including two butterflies on her neck and another butterfly on her right arm. She also has a scar on her neck and multiple facial piercings. When she was last seen, Kira was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants. Her family and the Wilmington Police Department are seeking information that could lead to her whereabouts.

The circumstances surrounding Kira's disappearance remain unclear, causing significant concern for her well-being. Compounding the distress of her family is the fact that she has a history of going missing on previous occasions. Authorities have noted that Wilmington is situated along a known corridor for human trafficking, which elevates the level of concern and urgency in cases involving missing teens. The Coastal Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force, a multi-agency group that includes the FBI and local law enforcement, has been active in the region due to the volume of trafficking cases.

Prior to her disappearance from Wilmington, Kira had been reported missing from other locations in North Carolina. In early 2025, at the age of 15, she was reported missing from Leland after she was last seen at her home in the Wedgewood neighborhood on January 31. Later that year, in December, she was reported missing from Chadbourn. This history of disappearances adds a layer of complexity to the investigation. The Wilmington Police Department is handling the current case and has asked for the public's assistance. This case is a painful reminder of the many young people who go missing, leaving their families in a state of prolonged uncertainty and distress while authorities continue their search.
