The situation took a more unsettling turn when, four days later, on June 25, his Mustang was discovered abandoned in the Deer Canyon recreation area, a location off of Hualapai Mountain Road. The discovery of his vehicle without any sign of Tyler deepened the mystery and distress for his loved ones. The investigation into Tyler's disappearance uncovered perplexing details that seemed to contradict what his family knew about him. Authorities learned that just two days before he went missing, Tyler had purchased a rifle and ammunition from a local Walmart. This was particularly puzzling to his family, who described him as someone who was not an outdoorsman, had no interest in hunting, and even had an aversion to guns. The location where his car was found, a mountainous area known for hiking and recreation, was not a place he was known to frequent.
