On June 19, 1982, 75-year-old Harmon Robinson went missing after attending a clam bake in Harrington, Maine. When the event concluded, others assumed Robinson would follow them to their next destination in his truck. However, when they arrived, Robinson was not there. Concerned, some returned to the river, where they discovered his skiff floating in the water. Inside the boat, they found his 12-gauge shotgun and noted the presence of blood, but Robinson himself was missing.
