Franklin Eugene Marston, a 32-year-old man from Lewiston, Maine, went missing on July 31, 1977. On the day of his disappearance, Marston had planned to take photographs along the Androscoggin River near Turner, Maine. He left home with his canoe and camera equipment, heading for Ram Island. When he failed to return home, his wife reported him missing the following morning.
