In the summer of 2017, a 26-year-old mother of four, Cynthia Crystal Martinez, was enjoying her first night out since the birth of her youngest child. On July 16, 2017, after attending a party, Cynthia went to the Tequila Nights Bar & Grill in Keizer, Oregon, with a friend and two men she didn't know.
