Lawrence Rich, a 54-year-old fisherman, went missing on January 25, 2000, when the vessel *Two Friends* sank near Boon Island, off the coast of South Portland, Maine. Rich was aboard the boat with two other crew members when water began flooding in from the stern, eventually causing the boat to sink. Although one crew member survived, another was found dead the following day. Despite search efforts, Rich's body was never recovered, and he remains missing.
