Victor Mendez, a 16-year-old boy, disappeared on January 12, 2008, at Point Mugu, California. He was last seen fishing on Mugu Rock, a popular yet dangerous fishing spot along the Pacific Coast Highway. According to reports, while attempting to untangle his fishing line, Victor was swept into the ocean by a large wave.
