Margarita Gonzalez-Almazan, age 47, was last seen in the early hours of December 1, 2013, at her residence in Bluffton, South Carolina. She had attended a birthday party for her grandson earlier that evening. Her last known interaction was with her boyfriend, Osman Galicia-Escobedo, with whom she had a conversation suggesting tension. A few hours later, her apartment was found abandoned with signs of a struggle, such as two unfinished plates of food and a smashed television remote.
