Jesse Jerome Leopold, a 23-year-old from Jewell, Iowa, disappeared on October 13, 2016. He was last seen leaving his job at W&G Marketing, a meat processing plant, during his shift. Jesse informed his supervisor that he needed to leave to pick up his medication, but he never returned to work and has not been seen since. Three days later, his purple Ford F-150 truck was discovered unlocked with the keys in the ignition at Ledges State Park, about 35 miles away.
His work boots were found inside the truck, and his work smock was draped over the steering wheel, which raised concern, as it was unusual for Jesse to leave his truck unlocked.
Jesse had a history of mental health struggles, including bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety, and he required medication to manage his conditions. There were also reports that he might have been self-medicating with street drugs. Jesse's family speculated that he might have suffered a mental breakdown at the time of his disappearance. Despite extensive searches and investigations, no activity has been found on his phone or bank accounts, and his case remains unsolved. Authorities have not ruled out foul play, but no significant leads have emerged since his disappearance.
