Charles R. Elmquist, a 34-year-old man from Iowa City, Iowa, was last seen on November 16, 1979. Elmquist, who was disabled and required assistance in caring for himself, disappeared under mysterious circumstances. His 1961 blue GMC van was discovered the following day, abandoned in a storage lot at the University of Iowa Hydraulics Laboratory. There was no sign of Elmquist, and despite extensive searches, his whereabouts remain unknown.
