A senseless act of violence cut short the life of 20-year-old Makayla Adams on the night of Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Belzoni, Mississippi. A student at Delta State University, she was in attendance at the annual World Catfish Festival when gunfire erupted on Silver City Road.
