In the late summer of 2014, a profound sense of concern settled over Clinton County, Missouri, following the disappearance of 54-year-old Stanley Everts Thompson. He was last seen on August 27, 2014, in Plattsburg, Missouri. At the time he went missing, Stanley was described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, standing at approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 155 pounds.
