On October 24, 2009; a landowner in rural Hidalgo county, near the Arizona and New Mexico border, was clearing off land to place a house and found the skull. After a search, almost the entire skeletal remains were found about 200 yards away. Mexican pesos and multiple backpacks were also found in the area.
