Lucy Maria Wright, a 55-year-old Black female, was a resident of San Diego, California. On January 28, 2025, tragedy struck when her space heater malfunctioned, igniting a fire inside her apartment. The incident was first noticed by a neighbor, whose fire alarm had been triggered, prompting them to call 911. Responding firefighters arrived at the scene, where they observed smoke emanating from Wright’s apartment and proceeded to force entry in order to investigate the emergency.
