In May 1984, the small community of Manley Hot Springs, Alaska, experienced a tragic event involving the disappearance and death of several residents, including 20-year-old Dale Kevin Madajski. On May 17, Madajski, a carpenter and cabin builder originally from Michigan, went to a boat landing near the town along with Vietnam veteran Larry Joe McVey. When the two men failed to return, their families grew concerned and discovered their vehicles still at the landing, with no sign of them.
