Male, age 36, Lyman “Lyman Marshall” Klein left his small home in Manley Hot Springs, Alaska, on May 17, 1984, for a casual trip to the Tanana River boat landing with his pregnant wife, Joyce and their two-year-old son, Marshall. The landing was a familiar gathering spot for the tight-knit hamlet west of Fairbanks; that afternoon, several neighbors also drifted in and out. By evening, worry replaced routine.
