In May 2024, the case concerning the remains of Robert Monroe Brown, an elderly resident of the Golden West Hotel in San Diego, emerged, highlighting the poignant plight of unclaimed persons. At the age of 73, Brown was a White male who had been a known occupant of San Diego. The last sighting of the decedent by hotel residents was about one to two weeks before his discovery, a testament to his reclusive lifestyle or potentially minimal connection with others around him.
