Ngoc Thai Nguyen, a 63-year-old Asian male, was a resident of San Diego, California, living alone with little to no known connections or family in the area. On June 28, 2022, concern arose when Mr. Nguyen's landlord was unable to make contact with him. The landlord's attempts to reach Mr. Nguyen had gone unanswered, stirring suspicion and prompting him to visit the apartment to check on the well-being of his tenant.
