In the early morning hours of May 6, 2022, 36-year-old Quintel Lereese Harris was found deceased at a gas station in Pine Lawn, Missouri, a municipality within St. Louis County. At approximately 4:03 a.m., officers from the North County Police Cooperative were dispatched to the Phillips 66 station located at 6150 Natural Bridge Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Harris in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members later recounted that Harris had gone to the location to use the ATM when the incident occurred, describing it as a tragic instance of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was initially activated to assist in the investigation, deploying detectives to canvas the area and follow up on potential leads. He had a twin brother and was described by loved ones as a man who enjoyed music, travel, and spending time with his family. His death occurred on the same date that his sister had passed away twelve years prior, adding a layer of compounded grief for his surviving relatives.
