On June 13, 2022, Dewayne Wessel, a 27-year-old resident of Theodosia, Missouri, was found dead at a residence in Theodosia. The Ozark County Sheriff's Office responded to a call reporting gunshots at the scene. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Wessel with apparent gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
