In the summer of 2022, a family dispute in St. Louis County tragically escalated, leaving one man dead and another facing murder charges. On Sunday, August 14, 2022, Decorion Wilson, a 30-year-old male, was shot and killed in the Flordell Hills neighborhood. The incident, which stemmed from a disagreement over a debt, unfolded on the 7000 block of Brandon Drive.
Authorities quickly identified a suspect in the fatal shooting, apprehending Decorion Wilson’s own cousin. An altercation between the two men over money reportedly led to the deadly confrontation. The cousin was subsequently taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
Following an investigation into the events of that Sunday, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office filed formal charges against the cousin. He was charged with the killing of Decorion Wilson, turning a family matter into a criminal case. The community was left to mourn the loss of a man described as fun, caring, and always smiling.
