On the afternoon of September 27, 2022, law enforcement officials in St. Louis, Missouri, were alerted to a violent incident unfolding in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood. Just before 2:00 p.m., officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 1300 block of Goodfellow Boulevard. Upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered a male victim inside a residence who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel quickly
transported the injured man to a local hospital for urgent treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival. Authorities identified the victim as 41-year-old Eddie Lee Johnson, a Black male from St. Louis.
Following the shooting, homicide detectives launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. Police detained a 27-year-old man at the scene who reportedly made statements indicating his involvement in the shooting.
