Walter Muvich, aged 35, tragically lost his life on February 12, 1988, in Hammond, Indiana. The circumstances surrounding his death were both shocking and tragic. Walter Muvich, along with his colleague James Cromwell, was murdered by William Benirschke, an employee at J&W Janitorial Services, where both Muvich and Cromwell were his employers.
