On July 4, 2014, 31-year-old Marcus D. Ellison was shot multiple times in Indianapolis, Indiana. The shooting occurred in the 3700 block of North Oxford Street on the east side of the city. Ellison was transported to Eskenazi Hospital with gunshot wounds to his upper body and left arm. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries more than a week later.
