On the evening of June 15, 2015, first responders in Fort Wayne, Indiana, were called to the Villages of Hanna Townhouses regarding a report of a person down. The Allen County Coroner’s Office subsequently conducted an autopsy and identified the victim, confirming that she had died from multiple gunshot wounds. The death was officially ruled a homicide, recorded as the fourteenth such case in Allen County for the year. Born in September 1990, she was the daughter of Derrick and Larissa Martin and was deeply connected to her extended family, including siblings and grandmothers. Her sudden loss was felt deeply by her community, who gathered for a celebration of her life at a local temple in the days following the tragedy.
Despite the ongoing efforts of the Fort Wayne Police Department, the investigation has not yielded public announcements regarding the identification of specific suspects.
