On a summer evening in Indianapolis, Indiana, on August 12, 2015, the life of 24-year-old Markus Deon 'Stew' Steward was tragically cut short. A Black/African American male, Steward was discovered with a gunshot wound to his head in the 3400 block of Waterfront Drive. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a call about a person possibly shot and found Steward, who ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
