In Indianapolis, the life of Timothy Larry Poole, a 45-year-old man also known as 'Tim Poo,' was cut short on November 27, 2016. On that day, Poole was in his gray Charger in the 2200 block of Avondale Place when another vehicle pulled up alongside him. Multiple shots were fired into Poole's car, striking him four times. A female passenger in his vehicle at the time of the shooting survived the attack.
In the aftermath of the shooting, police were left with few immediate leads.
A year later, investigators released a video to the public in hopes of generating new information. The footage showed a silver or gray Chevrolet Impala following Poole's Charger shortly before the fatal encounter. This vehicle is believed to be connected to the shooter. Despite the presence of a surviving witness and the video evidence, no arrests have been made in the case, and the identity of the person or persons responsible for Timothy Poole's death remains unknown. His family has continued to seek justice, even purchasing a billboard in an attempt to gather new leads from the community.
A separate and unrelated case in Indianapolis involves a man named Timothy Poole as the accused in a fatal hit-and-run incident. On September 11, 2019, 14-year-old Luis Daniel Ortega was riding his motor scooter on West Coil Street. A car, driven in what a witness described as a reckless manner, struck the teenager's scooter from behind. The impact threw the young boy from his scooter.
The driver of the car, later identified as 30-year-old Timothy Poole, briefly stopped his vehicle about 50 yards down the street. However, he then fled the scene on foot, leaving behind the damaged car which was registered to his girlfriend. Investigators found no evidence of braking at the scene. Poole was considered a suspect from the beginning of the investigation. More than three months later, in December 2019, Timothy Poole was arrested and charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident resulting in death.
