Maria Contreras, aged 45, tragically lost her life on August 12, 2015, in Portage, Indiana. Her death was the result of multiple gunshot wounds, and it was ruled a homicide by Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris. The incident occurred at the Contreras residence in the Sandalwood Estates subdivision on the city's east side.
