In the cold of a January night in Indianapolis, the life of Wesley E. Collins, a 37-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On the evening of January 5, 2016, police were called to the 3300 block of Hovey Street on the city's near north side, where they discovered Collins with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Medics arrived at the scene, but it was too late; Wesley E. Collins was pronounced deceased.
