Death by Force

Donether Barnes, a 56-year-old woman from Gary, Indiana, was found dead on March 5, 2016. Her body was discovered at the rear door of an apartment building located in the 2100 block of West Fifth Avenue. According to the Lake County Coroner's office, Barnes had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and her death was ruled a homicide. The police responded to a call for service around 6:10 p.m. and found her at the scene, where she was pronounced dead shortly after.
