In the early morning hours of a December day, the city of Fort Wayne was marked by another act of violence that left a family grieving and a community searching for answers. Billy Edward Lambert Jr., a 35-year-old Black male, was found in a parking lot on Diplomat Drive with multiple gunshot wounds. The date was December 11, 2016, a day that would become a somber milestone for Allen County as Lambert was identified as the 48th homicide victim of the year.
