Richard Reed "Richie" Cozart Jr., a 20-year-old resident of New Albany, Indiana, tragically lost his life on January 18, 2017. Cozart was known for his big-hearted nature and his love for making people happy through his improvisational rap tunes. On the night of his death, Cozart was shot while sitting in a car near Erni Avenue and Fischer Drive in New Albany. He was subsequently taken to Baptist Floyd Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
