In late January of 2017, concern grew for Johnny F. Hall, a 58-year-old male resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, when he failed to appear for his job. He had been a dedicated employee with Republic Services for over three decades. The concern escalated when his truck was discovered abandoned near the Eagle Marsh Nature Preserve off Engle Road on Thursday, January 26, 2017.
This discovery prompted a search of the surrounding area for the missing man.
The search came to a somber conclusion the following morning, Friday, January 27, 2017, when authorities found Johnny Hall's body within the confines of the nature preserve. Born on June 25, 1958, Hall was known by friends and family as an avid outdoorsman, with a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping. His sudden disappearance and death left his family, including his wife, two daughters, and six grandchildren, in mourning.
Following the discovery, the Allen County Coroner's Office conducted an investigation into the circumstances of his death. The authorities announced that foul play was not suspected in the passing of Johnny Hall. Their findings indicated that he had likely taken his own life. Consequently, there was no criminal investigation into his death, and no suspects were ever sought or arrested in connection with the case.
