On a Wednesday evening, the quiet town of Salem, Indiana, became the scene of a grim discovery that shattered the peace of the community. Two young men from Louisville, Kentucky, were found lying on the side of the road, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. One of these men was 18-year-old Marty Jay Patterson III. A passerby spotted the bodies and immediately alerted the authorities, who arrived to find a scene of brutal violence.
