In the early morning hours of August 2, 2017, the life of 27-year-old Jeremy Walker, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Gary, Indiana. He was discovered outside a residence on the 3400 block of Virginia Street around 2:45 a.m., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported him to Methodist Hospital Northlake, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m. The Lake County coroner's office subsequently ruled his death a homicide.
