In the early morning hours of August 2, 2017, the life of 27-year-old Jeremy Walker, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Gary, Indiana. He was discovered outside a residence on the 3400 block of Virginia Street around 2:45 a.m., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported him to Methodist Hospital Northlake, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m.
The Lake County coroner's office subsequently ruled his death a homicide.
The Gary Police Department, in conjunction with the Lake County Crime Scene Investigations Unit and the Lake County/Gary Metro Homicide Unit, launched a thorough investigation into the shooting. Despite their efforts, information regarding any potential suspects or arrests in connection with Jeremy Walker's murder has not been made public. Authorities have in the past urged anyone with information to come forward and contact detectives.
