On September 17, 2001, Deputy Sheriff Jason Matthew Baker of the Marion County Sheriff's Department in Indiana was tragically killed in the line of duty. While en route to a disturbance call, Deputy Baker attempted to stop a vehicle with four male occupants who refused to pull over, leading to a high-speed pursuit.
