Death by Force

Marquis Sample, a 24-year-old resident of Gary, Indiana, was tragically found shot to death on July 12, 2019. Officers responded to a call at approximately 9:42 a.m. regarding a gunshot victim in the 1600 block of Van Buren Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Sample slumped over inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. The Lake County coroner's office pronounced him dead at the scene, and his death was ruled a homicide.
