In the quiet Hyde Park neighborhood of Bloomington, Indiana, a heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded on September 6, 2020, claiming the life of 54-year-old Annamarie Greta Mumper. A dedicated mother with a master's degree in special needs childcare development, her life was violently cut short in what police determined to be a devastating murder-suicide.
The grim discovery was made on a Sunday morning when a friend of Annamarie's daughter, Emma, arrived at the family home to pick her up. After receiving no answer at the door for about 45 minutes, the friend used a key to enter the residence. Inside, she found a horrific scene and immediately called 911. When Bloomington police officers arrived, they found four deceased individuals, all with gunshot wounds.
The investigation concluded that Annamarie, her 26-year-old daughter Emma, and her 18-year-old son Jakob were all victims of homicide.
