In the late summer of 2017, a loving mother's life was brutally cut short in her Indianapolis home, leaving a family devastated and a community searching for answers. Joann Highwood, a 52-year-old Caucasian female, was discovered beaten to death in her residence on Dollar Forge Drive on September 27, 2017. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department swiftly ruled her death a homicide, marking the beginning of a long and arduous investigation.
