In the early morning hours of May 8, 2021, the life of 19-year-old Ajayden Jayden Kahmad Ware was tragically cut short in Evansville, Indiana. A Black/African American male with a passion for live theatre and aspirations of becoming an actor, his death left a void in the lives of his family and friends.
Around 2:45 a.m., Evansville police were dispatched to the area of Riverside Drive and Pollack Avenue after receiving multiple reports of gunshots.
Shortly thereafter, another call came in about a car crash in the 2000 block of Pollack Avenue. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered a gray passenger car with significant damage. Inside the vehicle, they found Ajayden Ware, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical attention was administered at the scene, and Ajayden was quickly transported to a local hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries. The subsequent investigation suggested that Ajayden was likely shot while his vehicle was parked. It is believed that he then attempted to flee the scene, which resulted in the crash.
The Evansville Police Department has been actively investigating the homicide of Ajayden Ware. However, to date, no arrests have been made in connection with his death, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case remains an open and ongoing investigation as law enforcement continues to seek information from the public that could lead to those responsible for this violent act. The community continues to mourn the loss of a young man known for his outgoing personality and love for his family.
