On May 11, 2021, the life of Will Allen Edmond, a 68-year-old Black male committed to serving his community, was cut short in a violent act in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Born in Gary, Indiana, and a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Edmond had dedicated much of his adulthood to service, first as a member of the United States Marine Corps in the mid-1970s and later as an Outreach Coordinator for the Hoosier Veteran Assistance Foundation.
